 Alive: (of a person, animal, or plant) living, not dead.

Butcher's shop: a shop dedicated to the selling of meat

knocks: strike a surface noisily to attract attention, especially when waiting to be let in through a door.

GLOSSARY CHAPTER 9 - 10

Towards - in the direction of.

Dirty sheet - It's a sheet without cleaning.

Lying - present participle of lie

Rats - a rodent that resembles a large mouse, typically having a pointed snout and a long tail. Some kinds have become cosmopolitan and are sometimes responsible for transmitting diseases.

Grave - It's the place where you put the people die

Tries - make an attempt or effort to do something.

Pushes - exert force on (someone or something) in order to move them away from oneself.

Away - to or at a distance from a particular place, person, or thing.

Honour - high respect; great esteem.


GLOSSARY CHAPTER 7 - 8

 God bless - used to say that you hope someone will be safe and happy

Crutches - a long stick with a crosspiece at the top, used as a support under the armpit by a person with an injury or disability.

Weak - lacking the power to perform physically demanding tasks; having little physical strength or energy.

Perhaps - used to express uncertainty or possibility.

Let's drink to - when people crash their glasses in dinner.

Debts - It's the money you must pay to the stade.

GLOSSARY UNIT 2

 cardboard - It is a material harder than paper and it is colored

wool - It is a material that we obtain from animals such as sheep and clothing is made with the

envelope - is where the letters are kept before they are sent

tin - an airtight container made of tinplate or aluminum.

luggage - suitcases or other bags in which to pack personal belongings for traveling

wreck - the destruction of a ship at sea; a shipwreck.
